Muting original audio and adding music as soundtrack

Post by CherylInNYC »

I have spent all afternoon trying to find the answer to this question all over the internet, so please forgive me if I am asking something that gets asked here a lot.

I took several video clips on a recent trip to Rome. There's way too much noise and narration on the clips as they are. I want to dump the original audio and add in music as a soundtrack instead. I usually am good with programs like this but I cannot figure out how to do this! HELP??

This was the main reason I bought this progran (MovieFactory 6) and it will be a total waste of money if I can't get this audio right.

The users manual is a joke.

Thanks in advance for your help and patience.

Welcome to the forums,

Go to the Edit Room, click on the video tab (first one). Located at the top of the Video Tab is a speaker icon. Click on it to mute the audio.

Then to add music or narration click on the appropriate tab...;)

That did it!

Thank you so much! I thought I had already tried that, but was willing to try again, and this time it worked!

I guess it's necessary to click mute on every single clip individually.

Thanks for your help! Yay!
