Special Text characters, like æ, ø and &am

Hello,
just tried this software (VideoStudio 11) and was quite impressed.

It was a down though to realize that enter Norwegian characters æ, ø and å in text boxes didn't work. Not even with ascii shortcuts (i.e. ALT+0248 to get "ø")

Is there any way to accomplish this?

Edit: Seems like the Subject field didn't like these characters either..

I found some sort of satisfactory workaround here.
