Burn at 4X speed with a 8X Disc – Why???

Hi

I recently bought a Toshiba 16x Dual Layer DVD Burner . When I try to burn a dvd with my Ulead DVD Movie Factory 2.0 with a 8X Disc, it only burns at 4X rate.

I only use brand name discs such as TDK and Sony.

I have updated the patch on the website too –however, it is still only burning at 4x rate with a 8X Disc using my Toshiba 16X burner.

Can someone help?

Download DVD-INFO-Pro. It will tell you what the media is and what it is capable of burning (speed wise) for the media in the driver. Buring 8x media is not unusual and often is caused by firmware that needs to be updated. Don't think it's the burners fault.
