Hi All -
I'm using MSPro 7.
I've created a 4 minute movie with jpeg images to background music.
On preview, the timings are perfect between music and images.
On creating a video file (I've tried AVI, MPEG and QT), the images lag behind the soundtrack by about 5 seconds.
I did put a 5 second delay in the audio track to compensate, which is fine for the first couple of minutes. However, as soon as it reaches one of the cuts in the soundtarack, it seems to catch up, and it all goes off sync again.
I've not has this problem on any other similar projects I've done on the same PC and with MS pro7.
I'm pretty sure my system should be able to cope with what is a relatively small project like this. I've tried reducing all the jpegs to minimum size in case I was asking too much of my PC, but it has no effect whatsoever.
May be a bit of a dunce, but I'm stuck now.
Any ideas?
Preview changes when AVI created
If your sound track is mp3, I suggest you try converting it to WAV before you bring it into the timeline. I recommend Audacity for this.

Thanks for these. I'll try converting to WAV and give it another go.

Devil - you really are a very clever man. I'm so impressed.
I've converted the soundtrack to WAV, and the timeline and edit points now remain exactly the same between the preview and the created AVI.
I could have saved a day of shouting at my monitor, throwing things around the office and generally being unpleasant to everyone and everything if I'd only have asked for your advice yesterday.
Thank you very much indeed. I would take my hat off to you if I hadn't stamped on it and torn it to pieces in frustration yesterday.
All resolved.
Kindest regards
