VideoStudio 10 Plus - No Sound for AVI

Post by nickwalnut »

Hi all,

I'm making a machinima with a friend, and I've been using FRAPS to record .avi files. Since those files are uncompressed and massive, I compressed them with DivX using VirtualDub and then inserted the compressed shots into VideoStudio.

(Just FYI: The clips that I had shot with FRAPS did not contain any sound, as I did not need them to.)

Anyways, I finished editing, and inserted music to the music track. I created an MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 video file, to see which one I would prefer in terms of quality and size. The MPEG-1 turned out to be too small in frame size, and the MPEG-2 too big in file size. So I decided to render as the 'first frame of video', which was a DivX compressed AVI.

Now the video size and file size both turned out perfect, and I was happy, until I realised that the music from the music track did not come through.

Any way to fix this problem? I'm also afraid that later on, when I use FRAPS captured videos with embedded sound, they too will be missing their sound. I'm not sure if they will, though, but I just want to be sure, so if there's any solution to this problem, please reply.

Thanks in advance,
Nick.
