"L" Edit - I think

Post by MikeB51 »

Hi Team.

I think what I want to do is called an "L" Edit (at least in Pinnacle Studio it was). What I want to do is keep the original sound track but use some different angle video clips. Would I be correct in saying that this is where I have to separate the video and audio files, and if I do, does it affect the sync at all?

Thank you and kind regards,

Mike.

Hi

You should not have to ¡¥Split Audio¡¦

Use the overlay track for your angled video.
If this video has its own audio¡Xcut the main track at the angled video start and end frames. Mute the main video.

If the angled video audio is not to be used then you will have to sync the two accurately.

Aha L cuts and J cuts!!

Yes you can do those with VideoStudio and there is more than one way to do so. Here are two methods submitted by our forum members:

Syncing

When it comes to doing this, would you be able to point me at any tips for getting the sync right please.

Mike.

The video clip that contains the audio you want to use must remain intact, or else you will have sync issues. You want to put the alternate angles on the overlay tracks, leaving the main track alone (video and audio).
