ULEAD 11 keeps on crashing when trying to render or create M

Post by ssimplay »

Hello all,

I need real HELP. I am making an engagement movie which i done at home. Using ulead 11 plus the movice is now ready to be finished and burned to disk.

Problem i have is that everytime i create a disk i can say output type = folder (dvd) and normalise radio.

When it does render it stops at 3% and the entire pc crashes around 11 minutes.

I have also tried the create video file (MPEG) and it does exactually the same.

All videos are MPEG, pictures are JPEG, music files are mp3's etc.

There are no error codes what so ever but it crashes around the 11 mintue mark?

Has anyone got any ideas?

Thanks.

What are your clip properties?

What are your project properties?

The one thing I noticed is MP3s. Some people have problems with certain types of MP3s. Converting them to wav files usually fixes the problem.

I would suggest you do the following.

After editing, you first convert the project (as we recommend) to DVD compatible mpeg-2: Share > Create Video File > DVD.

Once you have your mpeg-2, save your project, then open a new one. Don't worry about a name for it -- the objective is just to clear the timeline.

Then you go to Share > Create Disc, insert your new mpeg-2 into the burning timeline, make your menu and burn. Also, make sure 'do not convert compliant mpeg files' is ticked in the middle of the three icons in the bottom left of the burning screen. You should not have to adjust any of the properties in the burn module and no rendering should occur, apart from the menu, during the burning process.

I have tried to convert the project as you recommend to DVD compatable mpeg - 2.

The same as before it crashes aound 22 minutes and the counter freezes on the screen.

I have also complied the entire project again and i am getting the same error.

Please can someone help...???

All videos are MPEG, pictures are JPEG, music files are mp3's etc.
:( I hate to tell you this after you've finished all of your editing...

MPEGs can sometimes cause trouble. I had to buy the Womble special-purpose MPEG editor. I still use Corel/Ulead programs for other things, such as authoring & burning the DVD, but all of my MPEG editing is done with Womble.

The more compressed the format, the more likely it is to cause trouble. AVI/DV (13GB per hour from a MiniDV camcorder) rarely causes any trouble. MPEG-2 sometimes causes trouble. DivX, Xvid and the other MPEG-4 variations cause lots of trouble. The same is true with audio formats, which is why Black Lab recommended converting from MP3 to WAV.

Since this doesn't happen to everyone, or with every MPEG file, these problems may be caused by some slight corruption in the original MPEG files. Or, maybe the editing process causes the corruption.

Here's a web page that talks about "lip sync" problems with edited MPEGs. Lip sync problems and crashing/freezing all seem to have the same cause... corrupted MPEG data.
