Moderators - Timeout problems

Post by Gra »

Hi Guys
I've tried to open the sonic fire thread and got a timeout error message:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /var/www/html/EN/includes/bbcode.php on line 222

I tried to send a private message to the moderators but that kept timing out as well. Is there a problem with the board (really looking forward to reading that thread)?
Thanks & regards.

I have already advised the Admins of the problem. As moderator, I can do nothing, as I don't have direct access to the database.

There are also error messages coming up when posting, but the posts get inserted all the same. The MySQL DB needs debugging.

Thanks Steve- much appreciated. FYI it's cropped up again when I tried to send a post to Ilene's thread on still images (I could open the thread but couldn't post due to a time out). I've never had this problem before in over 2 1/2 years.
Thanks & regards.

PS
Is it something that's got corrupted since Corel's set their logo to appear instead of Intervideo?
Thanks & regards.

I think the fault lies in the php.ini file where a variable is set as
maximum execution time = 30 seconds.

I have a local phpbb forum on my home Intranet - nothing fancy - just something I set up to store copies of my important tutorials for back up purposes. Quite a handy filing system also for keeping notes.

I had that same error on my home Intranet and found that the maximum execution time had to be increased and certainly fixed the problem on my Intranet. It was several months ago so although I remember doing the fix I don't remember exactly what I did but think I have found the fix again on the internet. I have sent an email to Corel asking them to look at it.
