I read with interest Linda's topic on overlay features and the videos suggested. I have one more question along those lines.
I would like to create some effects which include:
1) the video is split into 3 sections (almost as if a mask of two black lines has been put over the video equidistant apart)
2) Text comes in from the right and 'pushes' the video to the left, that video on the left remains and new video follows the text in (the text goes away)
3) can overlay tracks appear 3D - i.e. with a shadow on the right (or left)
Any ideas or videos to demonstrate these kind of effects using VS10+
Thanks in advance

I think you may need to download the 30 day free trial of MediaStudio.
The effects you are looking for are termed 'moving paths' - these do not exist in VideoStudio - the cheaper of the two products.
You could prossibly do these effects with VideoStudio but only with a lot of work involving the crop filter and chroma key. It would be time consuming and complex. The better option is to use a VideoEditor designed to do this effect.
