No colour when capturing video from VHS tape

Post by wildsnowgoose »

Help, no colour!

I am using videostudio 10 (10.0.0110.0 SE DVD) together with an EasyCap USB 2.0 adapter connected to my VCR through an S-video and twin audio connections. With playback of a VHS tape picture and sound come through fine in the monitor view of videostudio but only in monochrome and captured files also shows no colour. Changing options on the capture settings makes no difference. Any advice welcomed.

I'd go for the vcr is not an s-vhs model, so you are using the wrong lead, s-video, means the colour is being lost. Use composite cables.

Another cause of loss of colour is trying to capture NTSC to PAL and vice versa.
