Get generic Windoze window titled Dvdps "Dvdps has caused an error in KERNEL32.DLL" "Dvdps will now close" with a Close button and CD/DVD PS4 just goes away. This happens when burning to dvd iso
file or to the dvd (with either dvd-r or dvd+r discs). Doesn't happen on writing to file for vcd or svcd.
No error codes - just a generic "Windoze" pop-up window.
I've reinstalled PS4 following procedures found on this web site, added the one patch available.
Steps:
1. New DVD installed which works fine with Nero software. I/O Magic internal DVD +- R/RW IDVD18DL
2. Ran Ulead Pic show version 4
3. Tried to burn to dvd.
4. Got error - click on ok and PS4 goes away
5. Restart computer and then PS4 (same results)
6. Added patch DPS4_Patch
7. Rebooted - re-tried - same results
8. Blew away PS4 - re-installed - retried, same results
9. Found that the vcd and svcd to file worked. So just something with dvd (which I didn't try saving to file before today on any format)
10. Reinstalled DPS4_Patch - still didn't work.
Nothing in searching this forum for this error "dvdps". Nothing on Ulead's knowledge base/FAQ stuff (or here).
Sometimes PS4 just disappears right before it completes the dvd file (to hard drive) with no warning. Usually gets to 80% or more on my 'test' project (3 jpeg pictures ) - no sound/music. Attempted changing speed of write down to 4X and different discs (all were blank (and still are!)).
Suggestions?
(and I noticed folks stating don't use mp3 files - yet, that's the default that Ulead gives us in the software - when I picked my Theme Gallery Holiday picture (Halloween), it used a mp3 file for a short music clip. C:\PROGRAM FILES\ULEAD SYSTEMS\ULEAD CD & DVD PICTURESHOW 4\Content\Audio\Hol01_S.mp3)

So Corel wants me to pay them $25.00 to help them fix their problem with their dvdps because their 'canned' answers didn't come close to explaining the error received.
