text help

how do you add animation and type effects to your text. I double click on the effect i want then click add. but i get a message
(type effect settings and preset item1 are the same,"001" you can not add the same preset item, please change the setting and try again)

i have no idea what to do

Yes, read the manual! Pp133 -137 should help.
