Transparent image over background

Post by webvirtual »

Hi

I need to make an image which will blend into the background much like a fadeout effect.

For some reason all my attempts to do this have an ugly line between the image fadeout transparent limit and the background.

Anyway that I can edit my transparent image (in any extention that you might recommend), in order to achieve this smooth seamless blending effect..?

I have uploaded an example image of what Im trying to achieve to the following web address.

http://www.usamex.info/Transparent_Imag ... ground.ufo

Please download this .UFO image and open it with your PhotoImpact to see what I need to do.

Thanx

Well, I did but I can't open that ufo file, sorry. How did you try to achieve the transparency?

Hi Heinz from Down Under,
I have the similar problem. I have a background and want to add a photo with a magic frame that fades out. I don't habe the program at work and don't quite remember the English word for it. But the photos fades out to transparent, but you can see a very fine line where the photos ends. The object shadow is turned off. I think that is the same problem as webvirtual has.

I don't know how you are trying to achieve the effect. There are different ways. The way I do it results in this

just click the thumbnail to get a larger image.

I'm sorry but I don't seem to be able to open your ufo file. However, the web page explanations were a bit more descriptive.

I take it that the image with the butterfly is your web site background, right?

What format did you save your "transparent" image in?

Did you want that red section of your image to be fading into your background or to be clearly defined but only covering the red area and show the background through the rest?
