I have nothing running in the background either.
Make sure you don't have any "drag & drop" (Nero InCD, etc.) burning software running. These programs can "take-over" your burner.
First, try creating the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders on your hard drive without actually burning a DVD -
- On the burn screen, check the box that says
Create DVD Folders and un-check the box that says
Create To Disc.
If that works, you have a burning problem (You can use your other burning software to burn the files to an actual DVD).
If that does not work, you have an encoding problem (a corrupt MPEG file that Movie Factroy can't re-code).
...DVDs are MPEG-2 encoded, and MPEGs can be trouble.
You can have a 'bad" MPEG file that plays back OK but causes problems when you try to edit it, convert, it or make a DVD from it. Your camera may be generating (slightly) corrupt MPEGs, or you might have used a flakey blank DVD. Both
VideoReDo and
Womble include tools that can repair some MPEGs.
MPEGs can sometimes get corrupted
during editing. (I had to buy the Womble special-purpose MPEG editor.)
Any ideas?? please help!! I'm not gonna buy the license ill I know it works ok!!
Right! Since your source files are DVDs, you need to evaluate Movie Factory very carefully! In your situation, I would use
three different programs:
1- Corel Video Studio to "rip" the DVD to an MPEG-2 file.
2- Womble to edit the video.
3- Movie Factory (or Corel DVD Workshop or Corel Video Studio) to author & burn the DVD.
