WMV for Soccer/Football

Post by JamesU2002 »

Can anyone recommend some WMV settings for Soccer/Football. Something that doesn't suffer from slow down when there is a lot of action on screen, some WMV export settings suffer from this.

I'm looking for around 4mb a minute in file size. 16:9 resolution.

Thanks guys and gals.

I suspect it's going to be tough with so much compression.

I don't work with WMV files enough, so I can't give you the "correct" bitrate. A higher bitrate will give you better quality and bigger files. Video compression is "lossy'. Data is thrown-away during the compression process. More compression means more data is being thrown away.

If it was MPEG-2 (DVD) I'd say you need 40mB per minute or more, but WMV is supposed to be more efficient than MPEG-2.

The quality depends on 3 things:
- The resolution (i.e. 480x720)
- The compression method (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, WMV, etc.)
- The bitrate (kbps)

The file size (in any format) depends on the bitrate and the playing time.

Lower bitrate = lower quality = smaller file size = higher compression = more playing time.
