Video capture from Mini Dv stopps suddenly after 60 sec

Post by bddw »

Hi there,
i have a problem by record from a mini DV via IEEE1394 bus .
VS9 start recording from the camcorder , everything works fine, after
aprox. 60 seconds (somtimes more , sometimes less) recoding stopps in the same way as i click the " stop record" tab.
This occours in every record quality (DV, MPEG, Preview) . MS IEEE1394 patch for small plug FireWire is already installed .
System : MSI Laptop with AMD Turion X2 (2x1.6 GHz) , 2 GB RAM , Windows XP-Prof. Service Pack 2 ,JVC GR20E Video cam .
any solution ... ?
P.s. MS Moviemaker works fine, but who like to use it... ('')

Lots of people, but as you don't I won't suggest capturing to dv.avi using MM and then importing into VS while you try to find why the programme that is better than it won't work

As MM works, it can't be a hardware problem, as it would manifest itself with whichever programme you use, so it must be software related. I'm no expert on VS, so I'll just suggest the obvious like checking for vs updates.

I would also suggest reading this, just in case you don't treat the two apps the same.

There is also a setting in VS to capture for a certain time. Make sure it's not set to 1 minute.
