Audio Hiss from old VHS tape
Am using CapWiz and VideoStudio 9. A clip captured from an old VHS tape had no sound track, but an audio hiss is heard when played with VideoStudio. When in Timeline view and Audio View, no voice track or music track appears. If I add a music track, the music is heard but the hiss is still there. How do I eliminate the hiss? Thanks - Mike

Doesn't muting the video track mute the hiss?

With your clip in the video track click on the Video tab.
At the top of the tab you will see the clip duration box. To the right of that is the clip volume box. To the right of that is a speaker icon with an X over it. That is the mute button.
FYI - hover your mouse over buttons to get a description of what they are.

Well that's great that it worked for you, but I'm not sure why muting the clip didn't work, as that's all that splitting the audio does. Splitting the audio doesn't remove it from the video clip, it only mutes it and puts a copy on the audio track. Even after splitting the audio you can still "unmute" the video clip if you like.
