Greetings:
I got a new Panasonic SD-1 camcorder yesterday, and after reading through quite a few postings in this forum, I finally figured out how to "import" AVCHD clips from the camcorder.
When I play a single clip, the video is a little choppy, but usable for editing, but ....
When I have more than one clip in the timeline and try to watch the Project, the frame rate drops to about 1 frame every second, or maybe even less.
The PC is a dual-core 3.4 GHz Dell, 2 GB RAM, twin 320 GB hard disks in a Raid-0 configuration -- a pretty decent machine. This is with NO other applications running.
Is this normal, or am I missing another dot somewhere.
Thanks,

Choppy project playback when editing AVCHD content
Have you tried playing it back to other softwares the can play HD? Does it play well to other softwares? If you are using Windows XP, try to update Microsoft DirectX to its latest version. If the problem still occurs, it might be a software problem and need a clean re-installation. But before doing that, please review Editing HDV and HD Tutorial using Video Studio Version 10+.
