VS11 Plus - Project settings bitrate question

Hi all,
I am uploading hq-quality avchd clips to vs11+ from my hdrsr1. The camera manual says these clips have an average bitrate of 15mbps. However, when I go into the project settings of VS11+, it will not let me move the bitrate setting about 8264 kbps. So far as I'm aware, all of the other settings I'm putting in are correct. Can anyone offer advice?
I'm saving the clips as HD MPEG.

Hi

Afaik you need to select Mpeg 2 as the compression not Pal-Dvd
You will then get more options over and above Dvd compliant ones.

I'd like to point out that when following thet tutorial that Mr. Hunter explains how to set your Project_Settings to 25000Kbs, or when exporting Custom -> Export a mpeg2 file at 25000kbs.

You cannot manually do this in VS11+. It is a BUG.
Makes writing a tutoria for HD using VS11+ quite hard

Thanks for your responses to my topic. It is much appreciated.
I would ask, however, if there's some kind of patch or plugin to rectify this bug?
