How to (long render times)
Hi there i have both videostudios and moviefactory. Can you tell me why if you have any other file than mpeg it takes so long time to save a file if you have edit cut of etc? It takes forever to do that. But if you have mpeg it finished in seconds can you change something to other files to make it goes so fast?

DVD videos are made from VOB files. These are in fact MPEG2 files and so if your are working with MPEG2 very little needs to be done to that file.
The program only has to work out where you have made changes, the rest remains unchanged. This is termed 'Smart Rendering.'
When using another format such as DV MPEG4, DivX, WMV etc then the entire video has to be converted to MPEG2. This is why it takes longer.
