bad sound

When I capture to MPEG HQ DD the sound is bad. The sound clangs when it goes louder. When I capture to AVI and let it render at the end of work by making a DVD the sound is better. What do you thing is wrong?

Nothing!
My recommendation has always been to capture to DV (avi) and later convert to MPEG2.
