Hi,
Since I could not get any help for my font problem, with MovieFactory4, I decided to upgrade to MF6.
At first I tried the free demo version, which only had a few menu templates. I tought this was beacause of the "free" trial version, so I bought and downloaded a full upgrade version (for $49.95).
After an install and a reinstall, I still have only a few menu templates (2 or 3) and no choice for customizing. What's wrong?
I have a Pentium IV computer with a 1GB memory. I have been using Movie Factory for 3 years.
Can anybody help?
Pierre.
What's wrong with the menu templates in Movie Factory 6

Not sure I understand
Thanks for your help.
I don't understand what you mean by those links. At the end of my order process, I was invited to download 2 files, for installation. The only MF6 file was: dmf6_tbybhd_us
The other one was about other applications "bonus", which I also installed (just in case it might help).
Following another tip found on this forum (from You, I think), I was able to copy some menu elements from my MF4 into MF6, which allows me to do the urgent work I had to do.
But I know this is not a complete solution, and if You any other advise, please let me know.
Thanks again.
Note: Excuse my poor English; my native language is French.
Pierre.

I too, have a total of 7 links in my email to download the program. 6 for the main program (1-*.exe, 5-*.rar), then the Bonus which is a zip file.
appears to be a TBYB (Try Before You Buy) or Trial version. If you look at the files Steve listed, the first one dmf6_fullhd_e.part1.exe should be what you have in your download email, Unless you purchased an Activation key. Please Read... Product Activation Code FAQMF6 file was: dmf6_tbybhd_us

I understand
OK. I believe that I understand, now.
It looks like I only got an activation key for my trial version.
I had downloaded the trial version and it was only after trying it for a couple of hours, that I decided to buy the product.
I will study the FAQ about Activation key to find out if I am doing something wrong.
But, since I was allowed to buy an upgrade (having already MF4 and other ULead products - such as VideoStudio 10), I think that I should be entitled to get the full version for the $49.95 that I paid for.
At least, Corel should explain to its customers the difference between the buying options and the proper procedures in order for the software to work properly.
Thans again, for your support.
Pierre.

You still are entitled to the full program. The "upgrade" is a price discount, not a watered down version of the program. What we don't know with certainty, is if Corel has changed the file downloads. They of course have been doing things a little different then we are custom to.
Since you have the majority of the program already, (the TBYB), only the menus, templates, and bonus would be needed. So that may be why you only have a couple of download links.
The download links we have, use the first (EXE) file to extract and install from all the RAR files.

Thanks again
Thanks again, Ron.
I don't want to mess anything. So, I'll wait till I get an answer to the questions I submitted to Corel support, regarding this situation.
The automatic message that I received mentioned that I should get an answer on "the next working day". That should be tomorrow, I hope.
I can also call them during the business hours, since I am allowed to some free support during the 30 days following my order.
Judging by your messages, I am beginning to think that I did something wrong in the installation process.
At least, right now (thanks to the good tips on this forum), I can burn the DVD I wanted to burn, because I copied some Menu layouts from my MF4 (and Ulead Studio 10) to the MF6. What I absolutely needed, for my project, was a Text layout with 6 "titles" in it. I then added a background from a JPEG file related to my project. All the rest (video and music clip on the previous menu page), I was able to do with the material I had.
---
Maybe you can help me with another question. In MF4, I can apply the same font color and format to all the texts in the same menu, by checking a small box, in the font formatting window. In MF6, I don't see that option. Is this one of the missing stuff in my TBYB application?
Again, thanks for helping me.
Pierre.

This is much better in DMF6..
Click on the Edit tab. Choose your Text menu. Once you have all your titles typed the way you want them, (I have a weird naming method for my video files, so I have to rename them when creating the menus), use the Shift + Click method to select all your text titles. Then on the Left, on the Edit tab, click on the T Font Settings.... Now you can change the Font type, Style, Size, Color, ect, on all of them.
I think this is a lot better then the DMF4 method..

Thank you for this information.
It certainly is a good improvement.
