VS will not start - resolution issue

Post by jme733k9 »

Using VS 10 (or trying to) - When i try to launch it i get an error saying the program cannot start my resolution must be 1024 x 768 or higher. Mine is set at 1280 x 720. Whats the deal? My tv will only run on the 1280 x 720 res. What can I do to get this working?? Thanks, jme

Edit: OS is Windows MCE 2005

What vid card are you using? Maybe fill out the system info in your profile will help.

Just the vague info you are providing, tells me it's a video problem. But, thats just an assumption.

Have you tried setting the resolution to 1024x768? (not just higher)

A lot of vid cards have some really strange NxN settings.. Meaning, not a real standard, just a convenience for the user.

Thanks for the reply. I have a Radeon 9700 video card. I got it to work. 1280 x 720 must be an oddball res. I could also run 1920 x 1080 which I was able to run VS. Thanks again! jme
