Movie Factory 6 Plus and Blu Ray

Post by Ballistix »

I just don't get this. All the ads on the ULEAD site say it supports Blu Ray authoring. Where? I've downloaded the trial and it only gives me options for HD-DVD 15 and 30GB. No Blu Ray.

What is happening here? Is Blu Ray Authoring supported or not? If not then why are they advertising that it is?!

Any light anyone? Trading standards would have a field day with this in the UK if they said they supported it and don't!

I want to buy this software right now today, but only if it supports blu ray properly.

OK so they are advertising that it does blu ray now and it doesn't? Just to be clear...

Very naughty...

Movie Factory creates whats known as a BDAV disk. This is a disk with playlists.
A BDMV disk is a Blu-Ray disk with navigation similar to a dvd.
So you can use MF to burn your videos to a BDAV disk using the BD Disk Recorder Module.

I think the hold up on creating BDMV disks has been copyright issues and licensing.

But there is nothing anywhere that says create Blu Ray disk of any kind. Just HD-DVD 15GB and 30GB. Where is the blu ray option?

Understandable, the links are not on the Menu launcher.
If you use the standard method in windows "Start -> Programs etc"
Naviagate to the "Ulead DVD MovidFactory 6 -> Ulead BD DiscRecorder 2.7"
If you select NEW Project you can capture, import videos.

I assume that Ballistix eventually gave up since no-one seems willing to answer this simple question straightforwardly. And here we are more than 2 years later and they're still advertising the trial version as fully functional!

Its simple - Does the trial version of MF6 Plus support blu-ray or not?

I emailed this question to support and got a whole load of gobbledegook in response but no answer to the question.

Does anyone know the answer please?

Yet another referral to marketing blurb rather than a straight answer! It doesn't answer the question as far as I could see.

Will anyone give me a straight answer to this question?
