VS11 and relink problems

Post by robertj8142 »

For the life of I cannot figure out how to use the Relink when I want to relink a lot of files (multiple files in one folder, or multiple folders). It boggle me that Ulead has made a very common dilemma so darn complex to solve, especially when this is pretty easy code to write.

Here is my scenario:
1. when I capture(from Mini-DV), I tell it to create a bunch of small clips, not one big file. It saves them all to one folder. Let's call that folder f:\video\tapename (each of my tapes has a different name)
2. In the future, I want option of moving all these folders and files to a bigger, RAID-protected drive.
3. As a test, in Explorer, I go in and move 2 of these files from \tapename to \test
4. Back in VS11, a box pops up and tells me I need to relink, and there are small yellow boxes on 2 of my clips in the window.
5. I relink and pick the name of one file in the new location. It relinks that file. But, it doesn't relink the next file, and I had to manually pick that one too.

This is a huge problem. Imagine someone with 50 folders, 10 files per folder. They'd have to run this procedure 500 times, once for each file. That is crazy! One¡¦s hand would collapse from all the mouse-clicks.
This can't possibly be the way Ulead intended us to accomplish this. Also, what does the "Smart Search" do, the option box that appears in the Relink box?
Anyone know how to solve this, or is there a workaround?
Thanks,
Robert
