Can't Burn video using DVD+R DL

Post by Johnk253 »

I installed the latest patches for Moviefactory 3 and tried to burn a large movie clip onto a dual-layer DVD. After the rendering process had completed, I got two errors. I also tried burning the same file under Nero, with no luck. Tried different DVD DL discs under the same company name; PIODATA. The DVD drive is model: ND-2510A. A NEC drive that was purchased from MADDOG Multimedia.

1) The target device might have some problems. Please try again or reboot. (5216)

2)Generic error from CD/DVD recording software. Please make sure the drive is ready and try again.
ERROR: SPTI-BF-02-03-02-00

I have several possible solutions. The lastest DVD firmware does not support PIODATA dual-layer DVDs. Could be a conflict with other rendering programs, such as NERO, CD Easy Creator, Video Studio 8. I ordered more dual-layer DVDs, but from Verbatim (Will try them out on Friday). I heard the DVDs from that company should be compatible, with my drive. I never had any vendor specific problems before, using standard DVDs/CDs. The DVD+R DL is "seen" as empty from Windows XP Pro, it just won't burn files onto it.

Check the error code and I think it's the problem of the DVD DL disk. If it's not, Nero should also can burn it.

If you can effort, find Mitsubishi DL DVD+R to try. That's the brand every burning company will use to test with their burner or burning softwares.

Hope this helps.
