DVD MF6 Launcher Problem.
I click on the launcher and it opens but a little windows error box also opens above it saying "%1 is not a valid Win32 application" then the whole thing crashes. How can this be fixed?

Re: DVD MF6 Launcher Problem.
Thanks but I had already googled the error message and found that same page. Putting quotes around the entry in the registry as Microsoft suggested had no effect. The launcher still won't launch so I have no access to make slideshows or other things in DVD MF 6 you can only get to from the launch window. The launcher still works in my old DVD MF 4.vampire101 wrote:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/812486rwalker66 wrote:"%1 is not a valid Win32 application"

I didn't try uninstalling and re-installing. I fixed the problem, although I'm not sure which of the 2 fixes fixed it.vampire101 wrote:oh, ok...have you tried uninstalling then re-installing your MF?rwalker66 wrote:Thanks but I had already googled the error message and found that same page. In addition to the launcher not launching I was also having a problem where the WinDVD 8 program that comes with DVD MF 6 wouldn't install. I was getting an error 1721 message.
I found this page on Microsoft support about that message:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/891985
When I tried the first thing Microsoft suggests and was in safe mode a box came up saying I had a folder on my computer called "program" and that could cause problems for programs. It told me it could rename it "program6" and that should prevent problems. I told it to do that then proceeded with the fix for the error 1721 message. When I rebooted not only could I install WinDVD 8 with no problems, the fix also fixed an APC Powerchute software problem I've had since I bought the UPS unit a year ago. It also fixed the problem of DVD MF6 not launching. So not sure which thing I did corrected all the problems but just wanted to post this info for anyone in the future who might be having the same problems. Try what I did.
