Hi,
I try to capture from my Hi8 sony camcorder through a Hercules card.
It's connected with a s-video cable. I want an AVI file to work with.
After editing etc. i want to create a DVD and play it on the TV
The only settings that works are with frame size 320x240 or smaller.
All other settings give a Failed to build a preview graph.
Is it not possible to use 720x576?
Second question, what is the best compression to use?
By advanced there are also some choises, what do i use?

You might find that your Hercules card (whatever that is) is causing you the restrictions, not MSP.
I capture analog video through my digital camcorder at full resolution in DV-AVI. There are no compression settings to be set for DV-AVI, these are fixed.
Your PC power may also have a bearing on what you can actually do with a capture card.
