Failed to read DVD information

I have VideoStudio11+. When I try to import from DVD I get the following message:
"Failed to read DVD information: Report ID: 0x8004090(2305)

Any ideas?

Try lifting the footage from the dvd to hard drive first. From memory you have to change the extension of the files but a search on the forum on DVD capture should give you better answers.

Thanks Clevo I will try that but then VideoStudio 11 doesn't give what it says. Pity.

Is the DVD a commercial one? Or is it from a mini DVD camera? If the latter, is it of a type which is required to be 'finalised' in the camera before it can be used? The camera manual should tell you if it is.

The DVD is one that I have created with VideoStudio10 and I want to use the content for another project that I must do with VideoStudio11+

Can you copy the Video_TS folder from the DVD to your hard disk and try importing from there?

At the end of the day, copying to hard disk and changing the .vob file extension to .mpg usually works too.

If you change the .vob to .mpg then you can import it. Well if that is the only alternative then be it.

Ken if I import the DVD Video_TS folder then VS doesn't even see the file while I am in the "Capture" stage. Its only when I change the file to .mpg then I can import it while I am on the "Edit" stage.
