on my core 2 duo machine at home running xp pro, 1TB raid 0, 1GB, i am unable to start video studio at all if quicktime is installed.
Unfortunately quicktime is all over itunes, so I need this working.
Also, just uninstalling quicktime doesnt fix it. I must manually edit my registry to remove what seems like several hundred quicktime references.
I have tried several different versions of quicktime to no avail, so am running vs10 without quicktime installed on this computer. Everything else seems to work fine.
I also have a core 2 duo (lenovo) laptop running xp pro which does not exhibit this problem.
Any ideas?

This may not be the exact answer you want but its relevant nonetheless.
VideoStudio's smartsound has this problem with quicktime. Follow the outlined steps to get it to work properly:
1. Uninstall Quicktime 7 from the "Add/Remove Programs" of "Control Panel" 2. Install Quicktime 6 (6.5.2) found on the VideoStudio or MSP installer.
3. Reinstall Full Spectrum from the Ulead CD then install the update for Quicktracks: http://www.smartsound.com/support/updat ... duct=ulead
4. Update your Quicktime to version 7 if you need it.
I hope this solves your problem.
