Support for .m2ts files.
Back in May, Bignosetw stated that support for .m2ts files was in the works and it would be released as a patch (later). Was this patch issued? I've searched for it but came up empty. If not, when can it be expected? Will it be issued for both MF6+ and UL Studio11+?

Re: Support for .m2ts files.
Thank you. I was already aware of this thread and the method. But the only way I can make it work is to import the files from the camera to the PC with the Sony supplied software. I then have to create a disk ( I'm not at home now and I don't remember the settings) and then transfer the files from the disk to the timeline using MF.asjr_4584 wrote:Try reading this thread, it might help you: http://www.sonyhdvinfo.com/showthread.php?t=8978
My understanding was and is that a patch was in the works so one could import .m2ts files directly to the PC and recognized by Movie Factory 6+ so they could be imported to the time line. In other words it would save me the trouble of making a disk with the Sony software. For me anyway.
Am I missing something? Am I the only one with this problem?
Support for .m2ts files.
As far as I know, there are no patches released for supporting m2ts files, but here is another way to import m2ts files:
1. Attach your AVCHD camcorder to your PC and save the video folders to your local drive.
2. Open DMF launcher and select ¡§Import/Capture¡¨ >> ¡§Import from DVD¡¨.
3. Click the ¡§Import DVD Folder¡¨ from the Import DVD window and select the location of your AVCHD video files with an extension of .m2ts
4. Click Import to finish. All imported videos will be added to the thumbnail list in the library.

Re: Support for .m2ts files.
Thank you for your suggestion. I think I've tried this before. I will try again. Hopefully, an update to the program will be available soon that will include support for AVCHD. But there's a benefit in the method I use currently. I have all the original files on disk.asjr_4584 wrote:As far as I know, there are no patches released for supporting m2ts files, but here is another way to import m2ts files:

Yes, make sure you back them up and keep them. There is new software out there that can process these files and better software being developed. It just takes time for the software engineers to catch up.
Ulead just recently made a new licensing agreement to work with this format and create avchd disks, this should also include loading these files directly..

Hi,
After installing the latest patch I'm able to insert the m2ts files directly.
So you can either import them or as I did drag them from the STREAMS folder directly into the timeline.
If you want to trim the clips on the timeline and smartrender back out to the same file format just mark the clip (trim) and use the "Export Selected Clips -> Fast Export". Worked pretty nice.

Great. Glad it works. I've just d/l'd patch and will try it out in the next few days. I've never had any problem with the program except not being able to import m2ts files directly. Considering the newness of the format and the fact the program has only been out a few short months I think your response to our "bitching and complaining" is commedable. Thank you Corel, you do listen after all.etech6355 wrote:Hi,

I'd like to point out that before when coverting the avchd files to another format or it's hd-mpeg2 video format my conversions weren't going well.
With this new release the converted video looks very close to the original source avc files.
There is a difference if you insert the m2ts files directly or import them. Because the m2ts files are still in the transport stream mode you may not be able to access certain features the same as importing. But I've seen a real benefilt for me inserting them directly. The ones that were made on a sony avchd cam.
