Hi
I just installed the trial version of Movie Factory 6. I intend to use it mainly to create audio DVDs for the purpose of compiling live concerts spread over multiple CDs onto one single DVDR that will allow me to playback the concert on any standard DVD player. Now I burnt the first one and to my horror it had annoying gaps between the individual music tracks. As these are live concerts, any gaps involved are disturbing the regular flow of the concert, especially when several songs (medley) originally flow into one another without any interruption.
I really hope there is a way to avoid these gaps, otherwise this software is useless for me.
Any info is appreciated
cheers - marco
ps: I used Audio DVD creator. While this software does not have the gaps between tracks, it does not allow you to fast forward/backward within a single track, like Ulead MF6 does.
avoid gaps in DVD-Audio and/or Music DVDs
I've never made an audio DVD, but I'll take a guess.
Try importing the audio as one program, and then identify the beginning of each song as a chapter.
This is how it's done with video... A DVD can contain up to 99 titles. A title is a clip, program, or movie. Many DVDs have only one title. Each title can contain up to 99 chapters. The title will play seamlessly through all of its chapters, but there will be a gap between titles. (Or, you can design your DVD to return to the menu after each title.)
P.S.
you may have done this already... Assuming there is not silence between songs, you can use audio editing software to mix/crossfade the CDs together into one big WAV file. You can usually fade-in the applause from the 2nd file as the applause from the 1st is fading-out. Usually this works very well and the "splice" is unnoticeable. You can do this with audio editing software such as Audacity (FREE!!!) or GoldWave (~ $50 USD).
