Avid Technology and Pinnacle Systems today announced a definitive agreement whereby Avid would acquire Pinnacle in a cash and stock transaction.
Avid is a high-end broadcast quality outfit. The question can be asked if Avid will continue the Pinnacle consumer product division.
The merger still has to be approved by the stock holders and the SEC.
