Adding new layers

Post by dlw »

I have been a longtime Adobe user and trying out Photoimpact. It has some great features, however, I am at a complete loss as to how to add layers to a photo. In PS, you just select layers drop down and select "new layer". What am I missing here? Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you!

As soon as you create a new object in PI it is automatically placed on a new layer. If you want several objects to be on the same layer you can either group them (can be reversed) or merge them. PI doesn't use the term "layer" but calls them objects. That's why you have what is called a layer manager in your tool box. 8) :D

Yep Photoimpact doesn't work the same way as photoshop this helps save time in my opinion. when you create objects text it automatically creates layers for you. as it was mentioned by dlw

PhotoImpact layer

PhotoImpact adds a new layer every time you add a new object. This can be accessed through the Layer manager button at the Panel manager. :)
