Hello I am trying to encode WMV files at 720x480 29.97 fps 24 bit video and 16 bit 5.1 audio from single Mpeg video files with 5.1 audio and there doesnt seem to be a profile i can use. Are there and plugins I can add to VS11.
I can use Windows media encoder to doit but it requires me to reencode the mpegs without smart render which make a slightly larger mpeg by about 2 gigs and then im able to use WME is there a way to use just VS11 to doit all?
Thanks
Frustrated newbie encoder.

Do you have the Windows Media Encoder 9 installed? I think you still need it to get some of the templates in VS11.
Anyway you can select in the Save As dialog Windows Media Video. Then click Options, and go to the Profile tab. Press the drop-down menu, and near the top should be Ulead 720 x 480 NTSC 5.1 Surround.

Ok I *THINK* i may have found a work around.
I used the profile editor with WME to save my settings for the WMV.
Then i copied the profile to the VS profile directory
Then by looking at the other profiles in that folder ending with the IPF extension i changed the profile version in my file and named it with the IPF extension and made sure I had a coresponding WME profile in WME profile location and I think its encoding correctly. I will see what the results are when i wake up tommorrow.
