Hi,
I have captured a video from my camcorder to my computer. The project properties are as below. I then saved the file to my hard drive. Then i just went straight to the Share tab on which i selected "Create Disk". I unchecked the "Create menu" then pressed next twice. I made sure the "Create to Disk" was selected, then pressed "Burn". I then get a box stating "" Convert step got some problems" [257:0:0] and that is as far as i can get.
Please can someone help. This has been going on for months now, without any success. Thanks
PAL (25 fps)

Thanks for the project properties. But the important thing we need to know is whether you captured your video in mpeg-2 format or something else. We also need to know the source of the video -- for instance, is your video camera a mini-DV digital one? Can you right click on one of the captured files within the VS library pane and copy down ALL its properties here please.
If you are indeed using a mini DV camera, then you should be capturing and editing in DV format over firewire, which maintains quality and avoids other problems. And then, when editing is complete, you don't open the burning module, but instead first go to Share > Create Video File > DVD. This will then convert your DV project to DVD-compatible mpeg-2.
Then you save and close your project. Then go to File > New Project, which will clear the timeline. Don't bother about giving the project a name -- it was just important to clear the timeline. Now you can open the burning module by selecting Share > Create Disc. You then use the top left Add Media button to manually add your new mpeg-2. Then proceed as you have done, but making sure 'do not convert compliant mpeg files' is ticked in the middle of the three icons in the bottom left of the burning screen (Project Settings). That way, no conversion will take place during the burning process, and as a consequence (to use the inimitable English of the program) 'convert step do not got no problem'!!
If, instead, you are capturing from a digital mini DVD or hard disk camera, then the Field Order would normally be Upper Field First, and this has to be used throughout your project right up to and including burning the DVD. As you will see, your project properties are using Lower Field First.
To make it easy, in File > Preferences > General, make sure 'Show message when first video clip inserted' is ticked. That way, when you do your capture and put the first of the captured clips in the timeline, you will be asked whether you want the project properties to match those of the clip. Say yes. Do your editing, then after that, follow the same procedure outlined above but when you go to Share > Create Video File, select 'Same as first clip' or 'Same as project settings'. That way you will have a DVD compatible mpeg-2 which matches exactly the properties of your original video.
