Hi
I eventually downloaded and installed the 'bonus pack' and the 'content pack' files and after istallation, I found a folder (a yellow folder icon like you see in explorer) on my desktop called "Studio Content Pack". I could look in it, and it had 'auto run' and 'start up' and 'disc image recorder' files in there and other folders? Should it be there? On the desktop? It seems odd to me.
Cheers

Sorry if you this sounds like I am telling you off - I am not. Please Read This Before posting wrote:SUBJECT: Please use a subject that describes your exact problem instead of making us guess what's in your post.
You can alter the title by using the [Edit] button on your first post.
The purpose of providing a meaningful title is this.
There are a number of members on the forum who try and help troubleshoot problems - myself included. In the early days of the user forum it was not too difficult to be able to read all of the posts submitted since the last time I (or one of the other troubleshooters) had logged on.
On the Forum Home page at the top right is a link
[view posts since last visit] In the forums early days this would perhaps range between 10-30 posts. Today however the board has grown in popularity and more products are now catered for including the former Intervideo products before the merger with Ulead.
There have been days when I have logged on to find over 70 new posts since my last visit. It is of course impossible to read each and every one of them and so it is necessary to look at the titles to pick out posts where I feel I am able to offer some worthwhile input.
if you are viewing perhaps the VideoStudio forum and a post is entitled
"VideoStudio" - it doesn't really give you a clue, similarly in the PhotoImpact forum a post entitled [PhotoImpact] is equally as meaningless.
Giving a post a suitable title is a means of helping us to help you.

Regarding you query - sounds like when you ran the extra content *.exe file it decompressed the set up files to your desktop. You should be able to delete it.

Thanks.
I'll try and remember to give a meaningful subject line. I'm sure to need help in the next little while. At 74, this is a new world to me!!

As for your question, it depends where your downloaded files are normally placed by the downloader. Mine normally are placed on the desktop by choice. But other people create a special Download folder (Vista, for instance, has a "Downloads" folder included in the installation").
But whatever the case, its appearing on your desktop is a useful reminder of something very important. If you haven't already done so, burn all three of your downloaded program/extra content/bonus files to CD. (I found I had to use 2 CDs for VS11+). That way, in future, if you have any problems, you will have the back-up to reinstall.
And once you have burned them to CD, you should be able to delete the folder from your desktop with no problem.
