Some required modules are lost. Me too.

Post by wguru »

Hi everbody, it so encouraging to find a forum such as this, apologies for perhaps seen as using it a bit much.

Have had a few bouts where the DVD-R/-RW burn fails, once even when the TS folders succeeded in 'burning' to file and yet the DVD burn didn't take place (regardless that the project was supposed to but the DVD-RW and the backup set of TS files). This's becoming pretty annoying to say the least.

Of course I turned off my Kaspersky AV, but when I clicked the burn icon, immediately a prompt said something like the file was too big and needed to be split up, but as it didn't say how and all the prompt offered was to click OK, I did.

What's this prompt for and how does one split up the file?

Anyway, back to the burn pane and as I had the 'burn TS folder' ticked, I changed the location from my EHD (a FAT32 one, and yes

I know, MF is supposed to have issues with such HD's, but its worked fine nearly all the time before). So after changing the file location for the TS folder, the burn failed despite the backup TS (VOB's) were 'burnt' to the folder and files play w/o issue, so what might be causes for this unexplained MF4SE 'error' prompt?

The 'error' prompt starts out with "Some required modules are lost. Please install them again! (5201)" then when I clicked its OK button, another Ulead DVD MovieFactory popup appeared saying "Invalid device number (internal error)".

I re-opened the project and changed nothing except that the default burn settings left the 'burn TS files' tickbox unticked (as opposed to my initial burn attempt)", and inexplicably this time the burn succeeded and did so to the very same DVD-RW, and the movie even plays totally w/o issue.

I poked around, nothing on my event log, but did run across a the
LVCOMSX/LOG which has a number of lines that said...
DevExplorer.cpp-line:1380:OnDeviceChange: Wrong DevBD type for
DBT_DEVICEARRIVAL...

I goofed by not checking the burn log beofre I re-tried burning,
so that info's lost.

Background - I reinstalled MF4SE recently as an effort to discover why it was my laptop lacked audio only for the microphone input (which I use w/my analog-digital software's dongle).

After reinstalling RealTec AC 97 drivers, MF4SE and the dongle's software, I got the audio working again for the analog-digital capturing, but I'm running into a few burn failures always related to the lost modules thing.

Clueless, but it seems they nearly all want us all that way.
