Error Creating Disc Image File

Post by KLIK77 »

Running:
Amd Athlon 1.48Ghz, 512 MBram, WinXP PRO at SP2, Pioneer dvdr-109 and a LG GCA-4160B, dvd writers. With Ulead CD & DVD PictureShow 3 . NTSC video format.
Problem:
Ulead used to run fine, ran several jobs last winter, with no error. Just back from vacation and i built up a new job of photos and videos. When i get to the BURN process, the problem lies in the 'creating disc image' step.
The job requires 3.05GB, i have 51.9GB available. The DVD has 4.38 available for a need of 1.52GB. The job goes totally through the 'converting slideshows' step. The problem occurs during the step 'converting menu ...'. It's building the Motion Background of the Menu. In the midts of this step or as it is finishing it, i get the following error message:
"Failure error when recording to disc(2)"
Creating Disc Image File
Class ID - 596a6896 0aed 44f8 a731 8bb87586f361
Function ID - 38
Line Number - 1095
What i did:
1- re did the jobs twice, same result
2- un-installed ULEAD PictureShow 3 then re-installed (ipl'ed), same result.
3- Applied DPS3 PATCH 5IN1, i now run 'Ulead CD & DVD PictureShow 3.0.1.8' , same result.
4- Defragmented my disk, same result.
5- Shutdown ZoneAlarm and my Anti-Virus, and ALL under the cover jobs, same result.
6- Tested it with both burners(one at a time), then tested, sending the output to a VIDEO file, instead of a dvd burner, same result.
7- Recreated the job with another MENU, same result.
8- Created a very short job (61mb), with just a few photos and 1 mini video, same result.
9- Just finished installing Ulead CD & DVD PictureShow 3 on a Lenovo 1.4ghz. I submitted my original job and oriented it to a VIDEO file. IT WORKED...!
.
STILL need to find what is the problem encountered by ULEAD on my desktop...!
.
This ULEAD application used to work, i did not change any hardware. The only variable is, adding some maintenance to WinXP pro. Everytime i do a test on the original job, it runs for over 6hours(bombs out at the end), before calling the dvd writer(or writing to a video file). I have wasted dayssss shooting this bug.
.
I need assistance, ideas,
Regards, KLIK77.
