Can we run UVS9 on a low spec laptop?

Post by screwball2 »

I am running UVS9 on a relatively powerful computer with 'almost' no problems. We have just returned from holiday and my wife wants a crack at compiling her own production from stills and digi movie on her laptop. The idea is that she simply produces the video, without burning, then copies the finished project to my computer for the actual burn, which of course needs much more memory and power. She will only do this in the comfort of home on her laptop as my computer room is in an outbuilding and she cannot spend hours out there. The spec is low e.g. Win 2000 367ghz Intel celeron - 288 mb ram - 40 gb free HD space. Speed is not a real issue, but starting the project and suffering loads of crashes is. So is it feasable to run before bothering to load the programme?

It's possible you will get a reply from someone who is using VS9 AND a low spec laptop but I reckon you might want to give it a go and report back here.

What are the specs on the laptop?

I have VS9 on a P3 1.0 GHz 512 MB RAM computer running XP Pro, and the speed is rather slow, but it does the job. But I wouldn't want to run it on anything less powerful...
