Hi guys. I am new here and happy to be a part.
I had vs9 for a while and its been great. I updated to vs 11 and then i tested out sony vegas and the trial ver of adobe pro. After installing the adobe i was not able to load any more vob files into vs 9. I am not sure if that was possible with vs11 as I tried them the same day to experiment. I have a dvd cam and find that the sony vegas does a grat job of importing the files of the cam in the form of mpeg, which is good.
However I am concerned about being able to import the vob files as I have a few of them.
I did a search on my computer and found that only one h264vdechpdll was found. I would like to be able to continue importing my vob files that are on my hard drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
cant import vob files anymore. please help

On the guess that you are running XP (you haven't filled in your system specs) I would uninstall Adobe then use the System restore function to roll back to an earlier time. Then see if VS9 will Import. If still no I would then just re-install VS9 on top of the existing installation as that will do a repair of the program.

I don't believe v11 allows the importing of VOB files. As for v9, have you tried changing the .VOB file extension for .MPG? Sometimes that works.

I suspect we may have some confusion here. I initially thought the OP was talking about opening files with the .vob extension directly in VS11 which (as Jeff said) cannot be done in VS11 (or indeed in VS9 and previous versions). It was only possible in VS10.
But on looking at the post a couple of times, I think the OP was really talking about 'Insert DVD/DVD-VR'.
However, it would be useful to have either confirmation of this or else further details on exactly he was doing.

OK. Let me clarify. First of thanks for the help.
I am aware that vs11 does not import vob files. At least that is what I think, though not 100% sure as it seems I was not able to test for this feature.
My concern in that with vs9, will not import vob files that I have on my hard drive, any more. It used to do so quite well, but since installing a few other prograss that feature is no longer possible. I believe there are sink problem if I simple change the extension from vob to mpeg, so I am afraid to go that route.

You mention the H264vdechp.dll. This related post may be helpful.

I read that post. When I did a search, only one showed up on the computer. So I was at a loss after that.Black Lab wrote:You mention the H264vdechp.dll. This related post may be helpful.

Ozzie,
When you're referring to importing VOB files, are you talking about inserting using the Insert Video>DVD/DVD-VR, or Inserting from DVD Folders?
VS10 was the only version that actually allowed inserting the VOB file extension. With the others you need to use the DVD method.
