hdv capture

Post by three_stripes13 »

have a canon hv20 hdv camcorder. When I try to capture hdv when the camera is set for" dv output HDV/DV ,the video studio 11 gives me this message "either no video capture driver is installed in this system or no device is connected..I can only capture video when camera is set for DV LOCKED.But this is not high definition Why won't videostudio 11 capture hdv?

I can capture standard video in the dv setting on my camcorder .in this setting the camera is recognized.when i set my camera for hdv I get the message EITHER NO VIDEO CAPTURE DRIVER IS INSTALLED IN THIS SYSTEM OR NO DEVICE IS CONNECTED.

How long did you wait to see if it was recognized? I read in another post that it took v11 almost 30 seconds to recognize the camera.

I had this problem with my old computer that had only 512 meg of memory and an old processor. My HDV content would not be recognized unless I switched my camera to DV output. I solved the problem by getting a new computer with more ability to handle the HDV signal. I am NOT suggesting that this is your same issue necessarily (I cannot see your system specs), but it's just my experience. My camera is different than yours, a Sony, but the HDV capture issue was the same.
