My MF6 after serveral months of use is now crashing. the above error is now poping up continuously when creating slideshows.
I have removed and reloaded mf6 three times and it works when starting from scratch but fails as I build up the movie.
Upon failure, I notice that when starting, it loads up to 100% (bar graph) and then disappears. the program fails to load.
Under windows task manager: Processes, file DVDMF.exe is running at 95 to 100% CPU and the memory usage just keeps rising. It shows the program is running in the backgroud but nothing is visual.
Please help
thanks
Peter

When you state you reloaded MF6 3 times you haven't mentioned how.
Did you try the 'Clean Re-Installation' procedure

Sjj,
I have followed your instructions precisely. thankyou. I deleted the temp folders and reinstalled MF6. Also performed a defrag to hardrive.
the error still repeats every time the following is performed.
1) Run MF6
2) New Video project...ok
3) Create a slideshow....then error pops up "cannot reset background image" this occurs every time I hit any button in this screen
So I decided to re-installed Windows XP..(this was an effort having to phone in for my windows automated xp divinci codes)
Nethertheless, I found the error. there seems to be a conflict with my original xp profile. When loading the new xp profile (that loads my new personnal settings) and then running MF6, there are no such errors and I can continue loading my previous saved mf6 files. But, if I log off and load my old profile the error returns. Every time I log off from the new profile and enter the old profile the error returns. It is now obvious that the issue is within my old profile.
The old profile is subjected to continous auto security and windows upgrades. Something happened to this profile over the last two weeks as I use this program almost daily. The only new software installed was " Kopykake.exe", a reputable cake decoration web site. Is it possible that this could cause a conflict?
So I will in the meantime use a separate user profile to run MF6.
Your comments would be greatly appreciated
thanks
