Applying text effects from easy palette

I type a word, then try and add any of the text effect options from easy pallete and I get an error:

Unable to apply the selected thumbnail's properties to the image.

I've managed it before but only us PI12 once a blue moon.

It's in the help file.. I just did it.. but, from the menu bar at the top while entering in the text.. and it worked ok from the galleries..

Go to File > Image Properties to check if you are working on an image mode that is other than RGB True Color 24-bit. Text effects will not be applied if you are not working with True Color.
