I think i have lost the plot somewhere along the line with this tool.
i give you an example i have 120 photos a music track 15 mins long.
i build my photo show in the wizard.
(before any say do you serarch yes i did and could nt find this mentioned anyware.)
I set the duration each clip to 8-10 seconds.
When i go to create the slideshow i found the following in teh duration settings:
Fit to image duration - does what it says.
Fit to background music - yes it sets the time at the music sequence how the sequence of pics are repeated many times during the slideshow (ie once 120.jpg finishes it goes back to 1.jpg and so on)
fit to back ground music tempo - does exactly the same as above but cuts music to 6 minutes instead.
I also tried to reduce the musc to 6 mins same photos and exactly the same problem but teh pics were displaye faster.
I thoouhgt if yo uput 120 pics in and set to fit temp teh pics would fit teh tempo not be repeated.
Any ideas?
Cheers

ok i followed the tutorial and this was using the movie template instead of slide show template.
i can see where you are coming from but using the movie template gave me a boring movie (no disrepects to the author of this tutorial).
This is what i did in the end.
i have a track 5-6 mins of music.
i re ran the movie wizard.
i added all the pics into the wizard with the same track.
i selected a slideshow template.
on the duraction tab i set to fit background and tempo.
when i exported to VS10+ i was able to work out how many pictures would actually fit to this piece of music.
i then decided that 128 picutres was perhaps a little excessive. (Even the viewers agreed on this one as to who would want to sit watching 128 pictures over 15 minutes!)
i managed to whittle it down to 71 good pictures. (this is probably still excessive!)
using the fit to music and tempo i re ran the project and now the pictures run in sequence to the music's highs and lows. (ie each pic has variable length an dmoves as the music changes tempo etc...)
probably a long winded way to do it but it seems to work.
perhaps I was being over ambitious with the picture count in the first place.
overal viewers were happy with the way the movie panned out.
