Video desktop playback option is unavailable!
I have Win DVD Platinum v8 and was disappointed to discover that the video desktop option, which was one of the reasons I have always been a fan of Win DVD, is grayed out. I've checked all the forums and support pages, but haven't found anyone else mention this problem or how to fix it! Am I the only one? Can anyone tell me why this would be unavailable to me in this version, but was working fine on an earlier version of the software? I am running Vista Ultimate right now, but had the same problem with Windows XP.

I have the same problem on two computers (both XP Pro) - please let me know if you'll find a solution.
I have the same problem and have been trying to resolve it for several months. This was a main feature in which I purchased WinDVD 8 platinum. Even after purchasing a new video card I needed for a game I end up with same results. The video card is a Nvidia Corp GeForce 7800 GS which supports everything needed for todays gaming including Shading 4.0. So I feel safe to say its not a video card related issue or driver.
