DVD Movie Factory 6 Plus, Vista problems

I am using DVD Movie Factory 6 Plus on Windows Vista ultimate. When trying to open DVD Disc Recorder 2.3 I get the lovely windows error message "DVD Disc Recorder 2.3 has stopped working" every single time. I have rebooted, uninstalled, reinstalled and still get the same error every time I try to open it. Is there a fix or workaround for this?
