Didn't there used to be a tutorial on creating a globe with a textured map?

I can't get the texture to work correctly on any kind of 'globe' shape.

Look a bit futher down this page.( Globes distorting ) I posted a similar query and the answer I received solved the problem.

Thanks, but that has info on how to save a globe that is distored.

I'm looking for info on what texture settings to use to get a texture to wrap correctly around a globe. My texture is not wrapping properly and looks odd.
