Post by bruceprokopets »

Everytime I try to save to quicktime, mov, or mpeg I either get "ubanle toe compress" error, or vs10+ crashes after its 99% saved

any ideas?

Welcome to the forums,

What OS are you running, Vista or XP?
What version of QuickTime do you have installed? If it is version 7 then try reverting it back to an earlier version like 6.5.

What format are you converting FROM? Are you able to save it in any format?

This kind of thing is usually a "from" problem, rather than a "to" problem.

For example, if you feed Video Studio a AVI/DV* file it should have no trouble making a MOV file.

However, there are many variations of each format. If you feed Video Studio a MOV file from one camera, it might work fine. If you feed it a MOV file from a different camera, it might cause trouble.

The more compressed the format, the more likely you are to have trouble.

* DV is the format from a MiniDV camera. It takes-up 13GB per hour (lightly compressed). Not all AVI files are DV. AVI is a "container" format, and it can contain anyting from DV to DivX.
