Editing Music Tracks

Post by j_spencer »

Hi. I'm using the song below for an edit I'm going to be doing for the upcoming rugby world cup. If at all possible I would like to edit out the voices from 3:25 onwards and just have the music. Is this possible? If so how would I go about doing it?

This is a massive part of my project and any help would be greatly appreciated!

To remove the voices from a music track is partially possible with the FREE audio Editor Audacity. The procedure is outlined here
Can I remove the vocals from a recording?

Editing Music Tracks

Sorry, I have edited church music for some time now and I have not found any consumer software that will separate the vocal from the music.
From what I have read, such separation is not easily done.

If the above doesn;t work there's the fiddely option would be to just edit out that section and loop the last bit of the song (where there is no voice).

I'm not sure how youtube encodes sound and whether it keep sterio integrity

Cheers guys. Will check the link out and if I can't manage it will just loop it. My Dad has a recording studio so I'll see if he can manage it!

Yeah. It's the kind of "go to" studio for trad music in Scotland. Kicking myself that I did a business degree now!

What I meant by the above is you just cut that bit out with the vocals from 3.25...then slide the ending bit over.... but the cut has to be, of course, in time with the beat. You'll then need to cut a bar out and add it to the end (if you need more duration or loop it till you need too fade out)

shouldn't bee too hard with Audacity.
